Ecology Profiles¶
FishSpeciesDefinition is a reusable behavior profile, not the unique runtime species identity.
Diet¶
Herbivoresearches infinitePlantFoodSourcelocations.Carnivoreevaluates visible prey by distance, relative size and health.Omnivoreperiodically chooses plant or prey according toOmnivore Plant Preferenceand falls back when the preferred source is unavailable.
Needs and feeding¶
| Setting | Purpose |
|---|---|
Hunger Per Second |
Rate at which hunger rises. Higher means the fish becomes hungry sooner. |
Search Food At |
Hunger threshold that starts food seeking. |
Stop Eating At |
Hunger value that ends an active plant meal. |
Food Per Meal |
Nutrition scale for feeding and successful predation. |
Plant Eating Speed |
Multiplier for time-based grazing. 1.6–2 is a useful range. |
Starvation Damage Per Second |
Health loss at critical hunger. |
Hunger represents need: 0 is full and 100 is starving. The world UI displays an inverted food bar so a well-fed fish appears full.
Life cycle and reproduction¶
Profiles configure seconds to adulthood, larva scale, ecological size, lifespan, population limit, reproduction energy requirements, cooldown and larvae per birth.
Survival and schooling¶
Profiles also define danger radius, flee distance, flee multiplier, predator size threshold, schooling radius, preferred spacing and maximum neighbors.
Death¶
Death despawn delay, sinking speed, roll angle and roll speed are profile-controlled. Animator users receive a death trigger before removal.
