Quick Start

Create Water

  1. Open your Unity scene.
  2. Select Tools/Pixit Games/WaveSync/Create Basic Demo Setup.
  3. A WaveSync Water object is created in the scene.
  4. Press Play to preview the animated water.

The setup creates:

  • A WaveSurface component.
  • A default WaveProfile.
  • A default water material.

Add a Floating Object

  1. Place a ship, boat, buoy, or prop in the scene.
  2. Add a Rigidbody to the root object.
  3. Add WaveBuoyancy to the same root object.
  4. Assign the WaveSync Water object to the Surface field.
  5. Add one or more child objects where the object should float.
  6. Add WaveFloatPoint to each child object.
  7. Use Auto Assign Float Points on WaveBuoyancy.

First Tuning Pass

For most boats and props, lower Buoyancy Strength values feel better than very high values.

Buoyancy Strength: 2 - 6
Point Radius: 0.3 - 1.0
Surface Normal Influence: 0.1 - 0.4
Water Angular Drag: 0.5 - 3
Height Smoothing: 0.05 - 0.35
Normal Smoothing: 0.1 - 0.5
