Wave Profile

WaveProfile is a ScriptableObject that stores the water shape.

Create one from:

Assets/Create/Pixit Games/WaveSync/Wave Profile

or:

Tools/Pixit Games/WaveSync/Create Wave Profile

Water Level

Field Description
Sea Level Base world-space water height before wave layers are applied.

Wave Layers

Each WaveLayer adds one directional wave.

Field Description
Amplitude Wave height contribution. Higher values create taller waves.
Wavelength Distance between wave peaks. Higher values create wider, slower-feeling waves.
Speed Wave phase speed.
Steepness Horizontal wave displacement strength.
Direction X/Z direction of the wave.

Surface Settings

Field Description
Horizontal Displacement Controls sideways vertex motion for the water mesh.
Normal Sample Distance Distance used when estimating wave normals for shading and buoyancy.

Tips

  • Use 2-4 wave layers for readable stylized water.
  • Avoid very high amplitude on small boats unless you also increase smoothing.
  • For large ships, wider wavelengths usually feel more believable.
