Space Station Survival System
A modular Unity 6 framework for runtime construction, automatic room detection, content-driven room classification, station resources, local atmosphere, ventilation, and autonomous crew.
What the package provides¶
Space Station Survival System is a reusable systems package rather than a finished game template. Players build a station from modular grid pieces at runtime. The framework detects sealed spaces, classifies each room from the objects inside it, simulates power and oxygen, and gives workers places to live, work, wander, and sleep.
Runtime Construction
Grid snapping, rotation, multiple stories, rectangular footprints, validation, demolition, categorized UI, and visual placement ghosts.
Semantic Rooms
Detect enclosed spaces automatically, then classify them with configurable tags, scores, priorities, and room levels.
Station Simulation
Global power accounting, local oxygen and pressure, powered ventilation, production, consumption, and operational states.
Crew Workflow
Spawn crew from valid quarters, assign jobs, consume oxygen, avoid walls, operate devices, gain fatigue, and return to bed.
Genre-agnostic room technology¶
The core room feature is a data-driven modular room detection and classification system. It is not limited to science-fiction art.
| Theme | Example object tags | Detected room |
|---|---|---|
| Space station | Bed + Locker | Crew Quarters |
| Medieval | Bed + Chest | Bedroom |
| Medieval | Forge + Anvil | Blacksmith |
| Fantasy | Cauldron + Herb Rack | Alchemy Room |
| Colony | Oxygen Generator | Life Support |
| Management | Desk + Command Console | Control Room |
The geometry, art, object definitions, tags, and room types are replaceable. Runtime classification code does not need to change when a project introduces a new theme.

Unity version
The package targets Unity 6. Demo controls use the legacy Input Manager when it is enabled, while the core placement and camera APIs remain input-framework independent.
